Cheri Higman

Cheri grew up hiking along the Mount Loop in the Washington Cascades. She fell in love with climbing and exploring high places in 2007. Once a splitboarder, and now skier, Cheri finds her passion instructing avalanche courses and helping folks get into the winter backcountry. She worked as NWAC’s Education Manager, helping develop their education programs, emphasizing work in continued development. Just to make sure she does not have an minute of free time, Cheri volunteers for Seattle Mountain Rescue so you know you are in good hands! When Cheri is not instructing or on a SAR mission, you can find her skiing, mountain biking, and trail running; or sitting in front of a computer diligently studying for her nursing degree. She is also pursuing her AMGA Ski Guide certification in conjugation with becoming an AIARE Course Lead.
